Get Ready to go Back to Black

Wondering what to do and where to shop over the next weeks? Have no fear! Keira Seerose and her Chic Management Team have once again worked their magic and are about to open up yet another great event full of yummies for your shopping pleasure. Back to Black opens Saturday, February 11, 2012 and runs thru the 29th, thats over two weeks of shopping! The Back to Black event raises awareness of mental health issues, something that affects us all, one way or another. Each of the many participating designers have created a new, and sometimes exclusive item inspired by words of hope and courage. There is sure to be something for everyone at Back to Black, here is just a peek at a few of my favorites. Take a moment now to plan your shopping, clean your inventories to make room for new stuffs, and fill those caffeine containers. Pose Fair 2010

Ok everyone in unison..scream…”It’s Pose Fair time!!!!” We’ve had fairs of all sorts but…wow..Pose Fair …how cool is that!!!? Everyone loves a pose, everyone uses a pose,…whether for just ..standing there (unless you are forever doing the Ruth) or whether you are a fashion photographer collecting every pose possible.
Pose Fair 2010 began (yes I am late…holidays and rl and more rl) April 2 and runs thru April 16. The lag wasn’t tooooo bad when I was there, but do dress down for the occasion, as always when visiting these events. There are also blue and pink skins available if you wish to really dress down and look like a pose ball person. You dont’ have much time left, so hurry on over there, time is nearly out, you’ll find approximately 100 pose vendors, more then enough to keep you shopping happy for an afternoon. The purpose of Pose Fair 2010 is not simply to bring us new and original poses by our favorite as well as new posemakers, but also to support Motivation. Each vendor has at least one pose set to give a percentage of its sale price to this organization that helps people with mobility disabities in low income areas all across the globe. You’ll find many fun, limited time poses you’ll not want to miss. Get on over there now…shop! Poses!! Time is running out, and you do NOT want to miss this, so..go..now..!

Out of the Box: Skins by Tuli – Eva and Baustein

I remember…probably close to three years ago, Yvette taking me to a little shop called Tuli to see the skins. I didn’t get any skins then..I had one and didn’t think I needed more. I did however, admire her work, and picked up some clothes. Of course, I finally got over that silliness of thinking one or two skins was enough…and of course…Tuli Asturias’ talents as a skin designer have grown even more since then. I’ve grown to love her skins too. Mainit Hellman, a new furniture designer on the grid, has created some furniture that fills a nook nicely in my building ball (yes, I have finally gotten out of the box *points up to the post title*).

I have a few favorites among Tuli’s skins..and the newest Eva is on top of that list. Eva was offcially released a week or so ago (I’m a slow blogger, I know) when she reopened the newly redesigned Journey Sim. I love the variety of make up options, as you can see here, you are sure to find one for whatever occasion you have coming up. My favorite is Tone 5, shown here, but there also darker, and lighter tones, seven total. Each make up option also comes with a cleavage option..and either brown or black brows. My absolute faves are 2, just right for casual lazy days, 5 for the reddest of lips, I love a red lip and a good red lip is hard to find and this is by far, one of the best ever, and 10, for when I want just a bit more. I love the detailing on the body, the legs and shoulder blades and other …parts, all done so nicely.

Tuli - Eva: Tone 5

The set by Baustein comes with two chairs, both with color change (4 options) and a nice selection of poses, an ottoman, fireplace and wallart. They are very well made, and I love the throw draped over the ottoman as well as the color options so I can change the look easily. The leather skirt from +grasp+ is fun and flirty, very nicely textured and tho you can’t tell here, mixes well with many shirts and things for different looks. I highly recommend a trip to all these places for some new looks for you and your home.

RFL Clothing Fair 2010

Every year since my joining SL, RFL Clothing Fair has been a must do event, full of clothing designers all over the grid that have come together for this event to launch RFL. This years will prove to be no less an event I am sure. I was fortunate enough to receive early access to this years fair as a blogger, so I promptly snuck in and snapped a few sim shots, knowing I was short on time this week and wanting to get some before all the lag hit. I was completely awestruck at the build of the sims.

Clothing Fair 2010 Skyline

Clothing Fair 2010, the 4th Annual event, benefiting Relay for Life, opens today, the 13th of March at 3PM SLT. It only runs thru the 21st, so don’t wait too long to get over there as you will not want to miss it. The build is incredible and breathtaking, with its nine sims of eight “Fashion Cities of the World” theme You can shop in Paris and London and then go to Rio. This years event involves 150 of SL’s best designers, each creating four, yes I said four! new items for donation to RFL. You do the math, that is an amazing amount of dedication and commitment to this event so be sure to visit all the stores and fill that inventory of yours. After Clothing Fair is over, make sure to visit their main stores too, and show your appreciation for what they have done for SL and RFL.

RFL Clothing Fair 2010

A brief note on lag – All I am going to say at this time is..it’s SL, there are so many variables that go into your SL’ing experience, and it’s even more so at an event like this..so take a few moments before going to prepare yourself for visiting the worlds cities and to try to make it a positive experience. Shut down unneeded programs, adjust your graphic settings. Dress for “travel” to all the cities, a simple, comfy outfit and low prim hair and various other things. You’ll be sure to enjoy it so much more.

Diesel Works for Date Day

Spring is in the air…or at least the hint of it is there. What better way to spend a weekend then on a date enjoying the crisp late winter afternoon while getting to enjoy the company of someone special.

Rogan Diesel of Diesel Works has, since his shop first opened in a little box of a shop, has been not just a friend, but one of my favorite pose makers. His poses have an extra touch …that touch that doesn’t crimp the AV like some do. Rogan knows the body well, and it shows in the fluidness of the body movements his poses display. He also does some very fun props, including the Don’t Forget Your Valentine BMX Bike released in February.

Diesel Works for a Ride

The Bike comes in Red, Blue and Grey, and includes several pose options for two people. They are easy to use and switch between and of course, the poses are all natural and smooth. While the Bike is stationary, I guarantee you can still get somewhere with this bike ..but where is all up to you.

The Catty Box: MudHoney and 5th & Oxford

One of my favorite skin designers, 5th & Oxford also makes clothing…clothing with such amazing touchable yumminess I am so excited to have the opportunity to blog it …and I also had the chance to blog about some of the extraordinary MudHoney Photobles, and when I saw the Shabby Girl Photoble, I thought it a perfect setting to show off this delectable lingerie set.

When I first Rez’d the Photoable…I was presented with a cute little Lego-like block, and a simple menu for rez’ing which allowed me to rez and place the Photoble just where I wanted it without any of its many detailed parts going where I didn’t want them to go. I was surprised to see it was such a compact little box..and even more surprised to see all the little bits included that make it so perfectly comfy I wanted to just move in. I’m getting a serious case of Winter Blahs RL and this is just so springy and lovely, it is perfect for some hideaway picture taking that will surely rejuvenate your spirits too. It comes with a variety of poses in the little window seat as well as the chair. I was even able to edit the photo on the trunk to personalize it even more. You just may find yourself hanging out here even when you’re not taking pictures.

The Tease in Shabby Girl

The Tease, recently released from 5th & Oxford, comes in 6 yummy colors, I don’t often wear blue..but ..while I love every one of these colors, the blue really caught my eye. The set comes in a variety of mix and match pieces, and of course on all the layers, which makes for unlimited wearing options. They can be mixed amongst themselves…with the underbust corset, bra, garter panty and stockings (colored and nude included in each) all together…or perhaps the corset and panty …or…perhaps bits and pieces with other clothing items for day wear or …maybe even less for ….other times. There are gloves too..so many possibilities. The Tease is packaged in seperate bunches, so you can buy what you like…tho I really think you should buy them all.

The Catty Box : Blueness from Skin Within

If you’ve been out and about the grid lately, or peeked much at Flickr and the various blogs, you have probably noticed the blueness gradually overtaking the grid. It’s happened to me too…
I was given the opportunity to blog the newest skin from Skin Within, created for the Rezzable event happening now. and I have been delightfully blue ever since.

Ayesha Bisiani of !Skin Within is known for her detailed and refined make up looks and she has outdone herself with her two newest creations. The Droe Exotica skin is so delicate you really need to go try the demo for yourself to see. Make sure you check it ALL out…there are some lovely bits not shown here. I love not only the detail but the uniqueness of this skin, with so many Avatarwanabe skins in the grid lately…this is a very refreshing change of originality.

The second skin created for the Rezzable event, A.N.A. Cyborg, is a delight of floral fantasy. It’s lovely detail is again something you need to see to appreciate. Run on over quickly and get your demos…I know you’ll love these works of art and enjoy wearing them as much as I have.

Three Things I gotta have in SL…and Then Some

I’ve been so busy with other things I haven’t had a chance to blog for some time and my piles of things that I want to blog just keeps growing. When I saw Samara Barzane’s Bloggers Challenge I just had to do it, knowing I’d be challenged to list 10 things I cannot live without in SL, narrowing it down to 3 would be extremely challenging.> Here they are, in no particular order…my three I cannot live without don’t you dare take them away from me things (fashion items only this time).

My Three Things..or so.

Getting down to basics, I’d have to say Exodi skins. I’ve blogged them before..and I’m sure I’ll be blogging them again. Lily is my favorite, with Sienna a close second. Lily’s face just fits me, my shape is mine, and I don’t like changing it to fit a skin, so I can be rather hard to please. There are many other skins out there I love, some I even enjoy wearing, but it is never long before I am back in Exodi.

Three ..or four, things - up close.

For my second item, I would have to say my Earthstones necklace. You’ll see it in nearly every picture taken of me, perhaps with the earrings to match. I love the detail and quality put into the jewelry by Earthstones. I am not much of a jewelry wearer in RL, and never have been in SL either, other then a simple pair of earrings both places. I wear this necklace for personal reasons…but not only am I blessed to be wearing it, I’m fortunate that it is such a fine piece of craftsmanship that hangs around my neck.

The third thing ..you might guess if you know me at all….WoE jeans. Call me biased, I’ll admit that proudly. But…look closely at these jeans, wear them for awhile, and you’ll understand that they indeed are perhaps the yummiest jeans in all of SL. I am waiting for a pair RL. I am rarely found without a pair on…whether its one of the special editions, or one of the faves like Ellee or the Boyfriend jeans. Even if WoE and it’s designer were not near and dear to my heart, I would still be wearing them more then any other clothing in SL.

And because I just can’t settle for three, I just have to also mention Maitreya shoes. If I am not wearing a Maitreya shoe, I am probably barefoot (which I often am, and in RL too). There are other shoes I love in SL, but none as much as I love Maitreya. They have clad my toes since their first sculpted boot way back when. No other shoe maker has equaled their eye for texturing and of course, I love their styles too, they just suit me.

And there are my top three, um..four things..of 2009…what will 2010 bring? New Faves? Perhaps, perhaps. But perhaps not, only time will tell what changes are to come. I know for myself, 2010 will be an even better, more exciting year then this one was, and it is my wish that the same is true for everyone.

1000 Sims: Quest For Flesh @ Exodi

Halloween has arrived in SL, and no one does it better then Ryker Beck of Exodi. If you can only get out to one or three Halloween events this year, make sure you don’t miss this one. It is running now thru Oct 23, 2009 at Exodi. Take the teleporter outside the main shop, and you’ll find yourself in a beautiful, tho haunting, autumn world.
